Following 15 years as Founder and Managing Partner of Barrington Lakes Group, Inc. Barrington Lakes Group merged into a diverse healthcare services firm in 2010. Mr. Smith served seven years as Senior Executive Vice President of the company and also served as Managing Partner of Strategic Positioning & Consulting Solutions before founding Phase 4 Radiology Business Strategies, LLC in 2017.

His specialized professional background and experience includes Strategic Positioning and Strategic Action Planning, Managed Care Contract Strategy Development, Radiology Group Mergers and Integration Strategies, Radiology Group/Hospital Joint Venture Imaging Services Development, Subject matter expertise and Analysis Support to Imaging Entity Valuations and Fair Market Value Determinations, and Radiology Group/Health System Integrated Imaging Strategy Development. He has had the privilege of serving over 1,800 Radiologists in over 78 Radiology Group Practices throughout the United States.

He is a recognized thought leader and accomplished professional speaker and lecturer to local and national audiences and has authored and co-authored articles and business publications as a subject matter expert on a variety of subjects. Mr. Smith has been a featured speaker for the American Medical Association, Healthcare Financial Management Association, Radiology Business Management Association, The Association for Medical Imaging Management, American College of Radiology, Medical Group Management Association, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Healthcare Services Assembly. He serves on the RBMA Radiology Integration Models Task Force, RBMA Alternative Payment Mechanisms Task Force, and is a past member of the RBMA Legislative Affairs Committee.

Mr. Smith is a three time contributing author to the Business Valuation Resources/AHLA “Complete Guide to Healthcare Valuation”, authoring the section on the specific and unique considerations to be considered when valuing diagnostic imaging entities.
