James R. Park, ASA is a partner in the business valuation firm of Munroe, Park & Johnson, Inc. located in San Antonio, Texas. Mr. Park has over 29 years of experience in the valuation of companies and partnerships for gift and estate tax purposes, mergers and acquisitions, buy/sell agreements, employee stock option plans, S Corporation conversions, shareholder disputes and other situations where an independent valuation is needed. Entities valued include manufacturing and distribution operations, retail entities, commercial construction and road paving companies, automotive dealerships, banks, real estate development companies, food services companies, and service-related business such as architectural and engineering firms.

Mr. Park holds a degree in Finance from Texas A&M University. Prior to joining Munroe, Park & Johnson, Inc., Mr. Park was engaged in the commercial banking industry for 11 years. Mr. Park is an Accredited Senior Appraiser of the American Society of Appraisers and a co-author of the Comprehensive Guide for the Valuation of Family Limited Partnerships. He is a frequent speaker on valuation topics and served as a course developer for the Center for Advanced Valuation Studies and Partnership Profiles. Mr. Park has testified as an expert witness in various courts including federal tax court, district court and bankruptcy court.
