Jim is the owner of this Charleston, SC based Forensic and Valuation practice. Prior to its formation in 2019, Jim served as the Firm-wide practice leader for DHG's valuation practice. His responsibilities including being responsible for planning, supervising, scheduling and reviewing of business valuation engagements, managing client relationships, assisting with consulting engagements, staff development and quality assurance related to business valuation engagements. He has extensive experience in fair market valuation of closely held and/or family owned businesses incident to divorce, succession planning, shareholder dispute resolution, estate & gift tax and transactions; as well as Fair Value engagements incident to Purchase Price Allocation and Stock-based compensation. He has assisted clients in the negotiation, structure and closing of acquisitions or sales of closely held business; the valuation of stock options; and ESOP shares He has provided expert testimony in family, state, and district courts. Jim graduated from Newberry College in Newberry, South Carolina with a B.S. in Accounting. He is a former Tax Partner at Coopers & Lybrand/Price WaterhouseCoopers.
