She has performed numerous valuations of businesses and assets for acquisition, divestiture, financing, financial reporting, and tax. She has worked with clients, across a wide range of industries, including financial services (structured products, portfolio management, ECNs and brokerage, insurance), manufacturing, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, technology, and consumer services (travel and leisure, internet companies). She has prepared valuation analyses for presentation to management, directors, and stockholders of client companies, as well as to attorneys, accountants, other fiduciaries, and the Internal Revenue Service.
The valuation work and analyses prepared by Shilpa includes, among others, purchase price allocations for financial reporting under U.S. GAAP and IFRS, M&A advisory work, tax restructurings and reorganizations, valuation of stock options, preferred stock and debt securities, valuations for tax and estate planning purposes, and dispute and litigation support, including economic loss and damages analysis.
Shilpa is also involved with many non-profit organizations, and currently serves as a board member and president of the West Windsor Plainsboro Education Foundation, founded in 1995 to support funding of grants for teachers, innovative programs, and strategic initiatives in the WW-P Regional Schools.
Shilpa has a PhD in Finance from the University of Texas, Austin, an MBA degree from the Jamnalal Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai, India, and a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology.
