Alliance Business Appraisal

In 1997 Toby became a business broker and in 1999 he was awarded the Certified Business Appraiser credential from the Institute of Business Appraisers.  Today Toby is a Certified Business Appraiser, a Certified Valuation Analyst and a Master Analyst in Financial Forensics.   Additionally, Toby is a business broker trainer and is the first person the Nevada Real Estate Division approved to teach the State’s mandated 24-hour pre-licensing training necessary to obtain a Nevada Business Broker Permit.  As of today Toby has provided the required pre-licensing training for approximately half of all licensed business brokers in Nevada.

Toby has also published extensively.  He has published four books on business brokerage and business valuation topics including Pricing A Small Business for Sale: A Practical Guide for Business Owners, Business Brokers, Buyers and Their Advisors.  This book was awarded best publication of the year for 2009 by the Institute of Business Appraisers.  Toby has also published numerous articles on the valuation of small businesses in professional business valuation journals and arguably has published more on valuing a business via the BIZCOMPS database than anyone else in the country.  As of January 1, 2016 Toby is the former Editor in Chief of the IBA’s journal Business Appraisal Practice and is currently the Editor of the International Society of Business Appraisers journal The Valuation Report.
