Curtis is a health care Principal at CliftonLarsonAllen with more than twenty-five years of experience serving health care clients. He is responsible for the physician and health system consulting service offerings for the St. Louis region.
He has served a wide variety of clients throughout the United States, including medical groups, ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs), and community hospitals. His primary expertise is in physician practice management and the alignment of the interests of physicians and health systems to optimize business and operational performance and achieve financial, quality, service, and market goals. His experience specializing in physician strategy, practice assessments, and revenue cycle improvement projects provide him with the skills necessary to evaluate and resolve the complex strategic, financial, operational, and technological issues facing healthcare organizations today.
Curtis has been a consultant and advisor since 1996 to independent physician groups, ASCs, health systems, and joint ventures to improve revenue, productivity and efficiency. He has facilitated a significant volume of strategic planning retreats, governance revitalization efforts and management oversight throughout his tenure working with health care organizations. He is also able to advise organizations with physician compensation plan re-design, new practice start-ups, practice separations, physician recruitment plans, residency programs, community health initiatives and litigation support.
He received a master of business administration degree from Maryville University and a bachelor of science degree in accounting from the University of Missouri. He is a Fellow of the American College of Medical Practice Executives (FACMPE) of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA). He is a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) from the AAPC. He maintains memberships in the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) and the American Association of Orthopaedic Executives (AAOE). He is an adviser for numerous medical groups, a frequent speaker on practice management, revenue cycle and strategy topics.
