Prof. Mauro Bini is the founder and director of W-Metrics, a Milan (Italy) based valuation and litigation consultancy firm. He has provided valuation consulting for listed entities on financial reporting, business combination, valuation of deals, agreements and complex transactions and he has been appointed as a consultant in major national arbitration. He was also appointed by Italian court as indipendent valuation expert and he has supported bankruptcy proceedings on valuation topic.

He is Full Professor of Corporate Finance at Bocconi University (department of accounting), where he teaches graduate courses in fair value accounting & valuation and deal design & business combination. He has taught as a visiting professor in USA (San Diego, CA) and Argentina (La Plata). He was external examiner for the master in management of the Imperial College in London. He had been Full Professor in Economics of financial markets at Ca' Foscari University in Venice. He also taught in Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan. He had been chairman of the Centre for Research in Administration, Finance and Company Regulation (CAFRA) in Bocconi University.

He is chairman of the Management Board of OIV- Organismo Italiano di Valutazione (Italian standard setter in valuation promoted by AIAF, ANDAF, Borsa Italiana, CNDCEC, Università Bocconi: www.fondazioneoiv.it).

He is a member of the Professional Board of the IVSC- International Valuation Standard Council (international standard setter in valuation www.ivsc.org).

He is author of numerous books, essays and articles on topics of Corporate Finance, Valuations and Fair Value measurement in compliance with IAS/IFRS. Research activity is mainly devoted to the themes of Business Valuation and Value Relevance of accounting information. He is author and co-author of several widely used academic and practitioner texts in valuation and he had been supervisor with Luigi Guatri of the series Impairment published by Egea and focused on specific issues with fair value estimates of investments, intangibles and cash generating units, in compliance with IAS/IFRS. He is a member of the steering committee of main valuation and business law journals (published in Italy).

He had been indipendent director of several listed Italian Companies and he is currently Indipendent Director in Mediobanca.
