Ted is a Litigation Partner in the Drinker Biddle & Reath Ltd. law firm. He has extensive experience relating to the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA). He has special expertise relating to Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs) and has defended some of the highest profile lawsuits involving such plans. He is the Chair of his firm's National Employee Benefits and ERISA Litigation Practice, and a member of its Class Action Practice.

Ted earned his law degree with highest honors at Northwestern University, and was a fellow at Yale Law School, where he taught.

Ted has a national practice with more than 25 years of experience in litigation, regulatory defense, and dispute resolution. He represents ERISA and ESOP plan sponsor companies, their directors and officers, plan fiduciaries, administrators, investment advisors, and other service providers in a wide variety of matters.

Ted represents clients along the entire continuum, from litigation avoidance and pre-litigation planning, internal investigations, defense of investigations relating to employee benefits and retirement plans and ESOPs brought by the U.S. Department of Labor, the Internal Revenue Service, and the U.S. Department of Justice, through defense of lawsuits brought by plan participants and government agencies. He practices before the U.S. Supreme Court, federal and state trial and appeals courts, and bankruptcy courts, as well as before administrative and regulatory agencies, and in arbitration, mediation, and alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
