Mark is a founder and Vice President of FranIntel, Inc. He has spent the past 35 years consulting on M&A, value enhancement, exit strategy, and turn arounds for businesses on both sides of the franchise table, including direct franchisor operational experience.

His career started as the head of Real Estate and Hospitality Services for a large New England regional CPA and consulting firm, with a focus development, repositioning, value enhancement, turn around and workout, interval ownership, and capital. Mark and other colleagues started their own firm allowing Mark to develop a nationwide presence. A large number of his clients were franchisees in the hotel and food service sectors.

He was an advisor during the acquisition of US Franchise Systems, Inc., a public hotel franchisor, by Global Hyatt in 2000, and spent 6 years as the CFO of the franchise division. He also was the operational executive for a related hotel investment fund, including management of its investments, M&A, and operations.

Mark returned to full-time advisory services in 2006 with a focus on franchising. His clients span a wide range of industries, including hotels, F&B, and personal and business services. He specializes in formation and start-up, exit strategy, value enhancement, turn arounds, and capital for the franchise business model. As a Managing Director of the Atlanta office of The McLean Group LLC, an affiliated investment bank specializing in franchise M&A, Mark has ready access to capital formation resources and tools for franchisors and multi-unit franchisees. He is also a founder of CapVal - American Business Appraisers, LLC, specializing in appraisal and value, litigation support, and transactional advisory services.

Mark is a member of the Board of Directors of the Southeast Franchise Forum, a regional affiliate of the International Franchise Association.

He is a frequent guest speaker to various user groups on matters of value, company pricing, value enhancement, and exit strategy.

In addition to being a CPA, Mark holds numerous appraisal and forensic credentials (ABV, CFF, ABAR, CVA). He is a securities representative licensed by FINRA holding Series 62, 63 and 70 licenses. He is also a member of the Vermont and Georgia Societies of CPAs.

Mark is a graduate of the University of Vermont.
