Matthew D. Jenkins is a partner in the Richmond, Virginia office of Hunton & Williams LLP and heads the firm's Health Law Group. He has worked extensively with hospitals and multi-hospital systems on regulatory, corporate, governance and transactional matters. He has led a number of non-profit entities through conversion transactions resulting in the creation of substantial community foundations. His work also involves legislative matters and practice before administrative agencies. Mr. Jenkins is a member of the American Bar Association's Health Law Section where he serves as a vice-chair of the Transactional & Business Interest Group. He served two terms as a governor's appointee on the Special Advisory Commission on Mandated Health Insurance Benefits for the Commonwealth of Virginia. He is a past chair of the Health Law Section of the Virginia State Bar. Mr. Jenkins earned his J.D. in 1984 from the University of Virginia and his B.A, Summa cum laude, in 1979 from the University of Richmond, where he was Phi Beta Kappa.
