Since joining Quist Valuation in 2000, Tom has performed numerous business and securities valuations for financial reporting, corporate finance, tax purposes, intellectual property, restricted stock and purchase price allocations. Tom leads Quist's San Francisco office and is a frequent speaker on complex valuation issues.

Tom has participated in over 1,000 valuation engagements for venture, public and privately held companies in a number of industries including software, gaming, construction, business services, manufacturing, medical devices, oil and gas and telecommunications. In addition, Tom has conducted intrinsic debt and equity valuations of more than 100 IPOs for acquisition purposes in industries such as consumer products, Internet services, retail distribution, software and telecommunications.

Tom is a member of the Association for Investment Management and Research, the CFA Society of San Francisco, Swiss Society of Investment Professionals and the Fair Value Forum. Tom is a holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, received his MBA from Thunderbird—American Graduate School of International Management and a BS in International Relations and Economics from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. Tom is a frequent speaker, author and contributor to articles regarding Fair Value, Employee Stock Option Valuation and Carried Interest Valuation.
