Stuart Kessler is a Senior Tax Partner in the firm of Goldstein Golub Kessler LLP and a Managing Director in American Express Tax and Business Services of New York Inc. He was educated at Brooklyn College where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree. Mr. Kessler has a masters degree in Business Administration from City College of New York, a Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School and an LLM in Taxation from New York University. He is a CPA and a lawyer and has earned the AICPA PFS designation.
Mr. Kessler is a past chair of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the largest CPA organization in the country and is a member of its Governing Council. He recently received the AICPA's Gold Medal Award for Life Time Achievement. He has been chairman of the Personal Financial Planning Division and received that section's Distinguished Service Award. He has chaired the AICPA's National Technical Symposium on Personal Financial Planning and the AICPA Business Succession Planning Conference for the past three years.
Mr. Kessler is a past President of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) and its Foundation of Accounting Education. He has served on the Executive Committee and on the Board of Directors of the Society and he has chaired the Society's Annual conference. He is a recipient of the Society's Distinguished Service Award and was recently installed as the only living member of the Society's Hall of Fame.
He was named by Money Magazine as one of the outstanding tax practitioners in the country, and cited by Accounting Today as one of the top Personal Financial Planners as well as one of the 100 most influential, and named by Worth Magazine as one of America's Top Financial Advisors. He is a lecturer and contributor to financial planning and tax journals and appears frequently on network and local television.
