Roger E. Wilde is President of Anacapa Valuations, Inc. He is a certified public accountant licensed by the State of California since 1985 and has been accredited in business valuation (ABV) by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants since 1998. Since 1993, Roger has provided business valuation services in his practice. Prior to that Roger assisted in valuing closely held businesses, particularly for buy-sell transactions of automobile dealerships and physician groups. He has assisted clients and their attorneys by preparing business appraisals for a variety of buy-sell transactions, estate and gift valuations, property settlements in divorce matters, and employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs). He has testified as an expert in valuation of a real estate holding company in the United States Tax Court. His methodology in determining the marketability discount from this case has been reported in the appraisal literature as an alternative for controlling interests in asset-holding C corporations. He has served as an expert and joint expert in family law matters for the Superior Court in the County of Santa Barbara, California. Roger has prepared business appraisals for use by investors, taxpayers, attorneys, certified public accountants, the Internal Revenue Service and Small Business Administration. Roger has valued companies involved in real estate holdings, timberlands holdings, property management, mortgage banking, contractors, manufacturing, printing, distributing, retail sales (including lumberyards), restaurants, wine making and sales, food processing, medical and environmental laboratories, research and development, and a variety of service providers, including physicians, chiropractors, dentists, engineers, and accountants.

From 1985 to the present, Roger has practiced public accounting with an emphasis in small business and individual tax planning and preparation. During 1994, Roger worked as an interim corporate controller for a group of international publishing and retail companies at a time the companies were considering an initial public offering (IPO). Beginning in 1981, he worked as a staff accountant for Richardson & Ashland in Bakersfield , California .

Roger has taught courses in advanced accounting, auditing, and financial impact analysis for University of California , Santa Barbara Extension. He has organized seminars for the California Society of CPA Channel Counties Chapter on Family Law and Tax Issues. He has also spoken and written on valuation and tax issues to professionals and investors.

Roger has been a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) since 1985. He has worked on the development of AICPA Business Valuation Standards and assisted on developing curriculum for the ABV Courses and ABV Exam questions. He is a candidate member of the American Society of Appraisers (ASA). He is a past member of the Institute of Business Appraisers (IBA). As a member of the California Society of CPAs (CalCPA), Roger has been a member of the State Litigation Steering Committee, its Business Valuation Section, and its Family Law Section, and has served as chair of the Channel Counties Chapter Litigation Consulting Interest Group and the Tax Committee.

In 1996, Roger completed the AICPA Certificate of Education Achievement in Business Valuation. He has completed the required valuation courses for the AICPA, ASA and IBA credentials, including tests on business valuation practices and the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). He has attended various AICPA, ASA and IBA national business valuation conferences since 1995, AICPA national divorce conference, and CalCPA Litigation Section Business Valuation and Family Law meetings.

In 1999, Golden Gate University awarded Roger the degree of Master of Science in Taxation. He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting from California State University , Bakersfield in 1986. In 1975, Roger received a fellowship to study at Yale University and in 1977 was conferred his Master's degree with a concentration in land-use policy and economics. In 1975, he graduated from University of California , Santa Barbara .
