Barry J. Cunningham has been appraising real estate and consulting on real estate acquisition and litigation since 1992. He works extensively with buyers in due diligence, forecasting taxes, preparing purchase price allocations, and securing long-term tax agreements (PILOTs, TIFs, etc.). He has worked in over 40 states and participated in hundreds of informal negotiations, settlement conferences, and mediations. He has testified before administrative bodies and tribunals and participated in trials in state and federal courts across the country. He focuses on larger complex property valuations, including hotels, conference centers, subsidized (affordable) housing, large office and retail property, mills, and larger industrial manufacturing property. He has a B.A. in liberal arts with an emphasis in economics from Charter Oak State College and a master’s and Ph.D. in education from Capella University. He also holds the MAI and AI-GRS designations from the Appraisal Institute and the ASA designation from the American Society of Appraisers. He has also completed a rigorous 18-credit graduate school certificate in mediation and conflict resolution from Champlain College. He lives in New Hampshire with his wife and two soon-to-be college-bound kids.
