Sara began her accounting career in January 2008. Sara has a wide array of privately held clients consisting of nonprofit, tribal gaming, governmental, and manufacturing. Sara is a member of the BDO governmental and nonprofit industry group and instructs on seminars on governmental and nonprofit topics. She has several years of experience auditing governmental entities, including private and public schools, municipalities, and tribal entities.

Sara is very experienced with federal programs and Single Audit compliance. She also serves on the Michigan Pupil Accounting and Auditing Referent Group.

Sara is a member of the Western Michigan University (WMU) Alumni Organization and is actively involved in the offices recruiting at WMU. She serves on the Kalamazoo Loaves and Fishes Board and is their acting Treasurer.
