René is the President, Managing Director, and founder of Beacon Valuation Group LLC (“Beacon”), headquartered in San Francisco, CA. His core experience and specialization is in the area of intangible asset valuation, in connection with mergers and acquisitions, financial reporting, reorganization, liquidation, domestic and international taxes, strategic corporate planning, and litigation. Prior to forming Beacon, René served both domestic and international clients while at Arthur Andersen and later American Appraisal Associates. During his valuation tenure of nearly 20 years, René has been a guest speaker and faculty member at various industry conferences and professional venues held nationwide and internationally on the subject of intangible asset and intellectual property valuation. Also, René was a co-developer for the American Society of Appraisers (“ASA”) in 2007 of a three-day course, “BV 301: Valuing Intangible Assets for Financial Reporting Purposes,” as well the subsequent advanced-level designation program, “BV 302: Special Topics in the Valuation of Intangible Assets,” offered by the ASA since 2010.
