Hon. Richard Mourdock
State of Indiana

Richard Mourdock was elected as the 53rd State Treasurer in November 2006 and took office on February 10, 2007. He brings to the office a 30 year record of being a business leader in the Hoosier energy, construction, and environmental industries.

From 1995 to 2002, Richard served two terms as a County Commissioner in Vanderburgh County, where he gained a reputation as a results-oriented leader by setting goals and measuring progress.

As State Treasurer, Richard serves as Indiana's Chief Investment Officer, where he seeks to maximize the return on the State's investment portfolio. In addition, Richard serves as Chairman of the Indiana Bond Bank, the Wireless Enhanced 911 Advisory Board, and the Indiana Education Savings Authority. Finally, Richard serves as the Secretary and Investment Manager of the Indiana Board for Depositories and the Trustee of the Indiana State Police Pension Plan.

Richard holds a Master's Degree in Geology from Ball State University and a Bachelor's Degree from Defiance College in Ohio. He is a licensed and trained geologist.
