About This Program

This webinar will include the first live public demo of the new Duff & Phelps Cost of Capital Navigator!

In February 2018 Duff & Phelps will release the Cost of Capital Navigator, a new online application designed to assist financial professionals to calculate and strengthen their cost of capital estimates. The Cost of Capital Navigator provides step-by-step guidance for developing U.S. cost of capital estimates in a straightforward, no-nonsense fashion, using multiple methodologies, and then layering in contextual industry data that can benchmark, augment, and support the estimates.  The entire Valuation Handbook – U.S. Guide to Cost of Capital (data + methodology + text + examples) will be available in the new Cost of Capital Navigator:

  • All of the critical data from the Valuation Handbook – U.S. Guide to Cost of Capital will now be available in the Cost of Capital Navigator: (i) the CRSP Deciles Size Study, (ii) the Risk Premium Report Study, (iii) size premia for use in Build-up and CAPM, (iv)risk premia over the risk-free rate for use in Build-up, (v) industry risk premia for over 200 U.S. industries, (vi) equity risk premia (historical 1926–present ERP, supply-side ERP, and Duff & Phelps Recommended ERP), and (vii) Risk-free Rates.
  • All of the text, methodology, and examples from the Valuation Handbook – U.S. Guide to Cost of Capital will be available in the Cost of Capital Navigator.

The initial rollout of the Cost of Capital Navigator in February 2018 features the data, methodology, text, and examples from the Valuation Handbook – U.S. Guide to Cost of Capital, and will be demonstrated by James Harrington.Later in 2018, the expansive data and information from the other three Duff & Phelps “Valuation Handbooks” will be added to the Cost of Capital Navigator: (i) U.S. industry data from the Valuation Handbook – U.S. Industry to Cost of Capital, (ii) international cost of capital data from the Valuation Handbook – International Guide to Cost of Capital, and (iii) international industry data from the Valuation Handbook – International Industry Cost of Capital.
