Joel F. Johnson has been performing business appraisals and valuing assets since the late 1980s. As the founder and principal of Orchard Partners, he is responsible for all of Orchard's valuation opinions. Designated an Accredited Senior Appraiser in 2000 and Certified in Intangible and Entity Valuation in 2017, Joel has completed hundreds of appraisals for rapidly growing companies.

Joel has been a speaker at valuation conferences, a presenter in national teleconferences on valuation issues, and a guest speaker in university classrooms. He's published articles in Valuation Strategies, BV Update and Mass High Tech.

Joel is a member of the Appraisal Issues Task Force and chairs the Concord Vine. He is a past member of the board of directors for the Boston chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth.

Prior to founding Orchard Partners, he held investment banking positions at Fechtor, Detwiler & Co. and McTeague & Company and strategic planning positions at General Electric Credit Corporation and American Broadcasting Companies. Joel is a magna cum laude graduate of Harvard College and he received an MBA from the University of Colorado where he was a Rockwell Scholar.
