Dr. Roper is the founder of Catalyst Economic Consulting, LLC and has over 20 years of experience valuing companies and teaching valuation within academia and to the industry. He is the founder of Catalyst Economic Consulting, LLC, a former Executive Vice President and Senior Consultant at Compass Lexecon, and former Vice President at Cornerstone Research. At these institutions, Dr. Roper worked on a variety of matters involving valuation including mergers and acquisitions, asset sales, commercial agreements, transfer pricing, and claims of corporate fraud. He has valued or considered value in startups, venture backed companies, stand-alone private companies, and publicly traded companies.

In addition, Dr. Roper has served as a research and teaching academic in finance for almost 10 years. He has taught as a Lecturer in Law at the Stanford School of Law, as an Assistant Professor of Finance at the School of Business at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and as a Lecturer at Sanford School of Public Policy at Duke University. He taught the nation's first practicum course on securities litigation designed for legal professionals at Stanford Law school. This course focused on applications of commonly accepted economic methodologies in meeting FRCP Rule 23 in class certification and more generally in assessing Section 10 and 11 claims. More generally, Dr. Roper's teaching and research focused on asset pricing and corporate finance-related topics, including trading and valuation of financial securities and empirical research and design.

Dr. Roper's research has been published in peer-reviewed economic and financial journals. He has authored on topics related to valuation and finance in peer-reviewed journals. He has also served as a referee in the peer review process for leading economic and financial journals throughout his academic and professional career.

Dr. Roper has a Ph.D. in Finance from Duke University, a M.A. in Economics from the University of California-Davis, and a B.A. in Economics from Washington and Lee University. Drew Roper serves an expert in matters involving valuation, damages, and securities law violations.
