Charles leads financial modeling and valuation projects related to the accounting of acquired loans, debt instruments, and other financial instruments as well as intangibles acquired through financial services business combinations. Charles also leads financial due diligence projects, advising financial institutions and investor groups regarding select asset acquisitions and whole bank and financial service firm acquisitions. Charles also supports the firm's Risk practice by leading model risk management / model validation projects for complicated models utilized in mortgage operations and for ASC 310-30 / loss share accounting. Charles previously worked as a financial statement auditor, focusing on the financial services industry. Specifically, Charles spent time with newly acquired finance companies, assisting them with understanding purchase accounting and development of initial period financial statements.
