Michelle Laws has been through a complicated divorce herself. During her case, many financial issues such as undisclosed out-of-state business, hidden assets, and “forgotten” accounts surfaced too late for her to benefit from. There were many ploys during the proceedings, such as stall tactics and efforts to temporarily reduce his income to distract and deplete her of any savings she had. The judge made decisions on her case SIX years after the divorce. This settlement only awarded her 18% of her marital assets! Much of this was due to the overwhelming amount of issues, missed assets during the proceeding, and financial analysis wasn’t completed prior to trial. The ex was granted 82% of the marital assets. Her divorce attorney’s ability to protect her was limited. The judge failed to look at the short- and long-term effect and only looked at the dollar amount.
